Revamped morning room serves as breakfast nook

What was once a cold, windowless larder for eggs and dairy has been transformed into a charming breakfast nook, complete with Ethan Allen chairs and an antique bronze lantern from the 1890s.

Service porch now a mudroom, servants' hall a scullery

The renovation saw the old service porch repurposed as a mudroom, while the former servants' hall is now a scullery. These changes reflect the estate's evolution from a working household to a modern family home.

Aesthetic balance blends 1920s and 2020s

Everett Schram aimed to update the space while honoring its history. This is evident in the stylish La Cornue range and custom hood, tucked into an alcove lined with Bardiglio marble slabs. Antique Holophane globes maintain the home's historic essence.

The French marble floors, the project's biggest splurge, add a luxurious touch. Glazed white brick tiles cover nearly the entire wall across the range, a nod to brasserie decor.
