Toronto home reveals years of refined design through meticulous detail

A repeat client’s vision, honed over years of collaboration, has culminated in a breathtaking 13,000-square-foot residence in Toronto – a testament to the power of established relationships in architectural design.

A legacy of precision: dvira ovadia’s toronto masterpiece

Interior designer Dvira Ovadia’s latest project, a sprawling new build for a long-standing client, showcases a level of detail rarely encountered. Partnering with JTF Homes and Lorne Rose Architect, Ovadia transformed a blank canvas into a luxurious, old-world dwelling, meticulously crafting every element from the bespoke furnishings to the period-inspired art.

“It wasn’t just about construction materials; it was about the entire narrative,” Ovadia explained, detailing the exhaustive sourcing process – including Louis XVI era furniture, hand-knotted rugs, and meticulously reproduced antique pieces. The sheer scale of the project – seven bedrooms, two bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, and expansive living spaces – demanded an almost obsessive approach. “Nothing could be lacking, and everything was inspected under a microscope,” she stated, highlighting the painstaking trimwork revisions and the replacement of a custom dining table due to substandard craftsmanship.

The process wasn't without its challenges. The kitchen ceiling required strategic lowering to accommodate mechanical components, necessitating the resizing of all millwork. Yet, Ovadia embraced these hurdles, viewing them as an opportunity to further refine her vision. “When you take on a project with this level of detail,” she emphasized, “the entire process carries a certain weight. From grout colors and tile layouts to the placement of cabinetry hardware, every decision is in our hands.”
