Christian Siriano Puts His Exuberant Stamp On a Historic Paris Apartment

Fashion and interior designer Christian Siriano has purchased a Right Bank pied-à-terre in Paris, marking a new chapter for him and his partner, menswear designer Kyle Smith.

A Classic Parisian Space

Siriano, a longtime admirer of Paris, acquired the apartment in the eighth arrondissement after an extensive search. The space boasts original details, including fireplaces, overmantel mirrors, and parquet de Versailles floors, with moldings “practically older than America,” according to the designer.

The apartment's design adheres to the existing layout, preserving its historic character while incorporating Siriano’s signature use of color and texture. Inspired by vintage lighting, the interiors feature vibrant hues throughout, from a lilac entry to a mint-hued dining room.

Siriano’s design philosophy embraces a mix of old and new. He furnished the apartment with pieces sourced from second-hand shops in the Marais and the city’s famous flea markets, including French and Italian treasures from the 1930s through the 1960s. The living room, painted in Benjamin Moore’s Gray Owl, showcases a vintage Pierre Chapo table alongside a cabinet from the first half of the 20th century and a Murano-glass chandelier.

“I can do a modern home, but I love things that are old,” Siriano stated, reflecting his open-minded approach to design.
