Malin Akerman and Jack Donnelly are trading California sunshine for the East Coast, offloading their beloved Los Feliz estate for a cool $3 million.
A twenty-one-year sanctuary
The power couple, known for their roles in The Hunting Wives and other projects, have spent over two decades nurturing a Mediterranean-inspired haven in the heart of Los Feliz Oaks. But it's time for a new chapter, and the meticulously renovated compound, boasting panoramic city views, is now ready for a new owner.
“I instantly fell in love with the Home when I saw it,” Akerman recalls, “The view is really what got me! I’ve been living there for 21 years now, but it’s time for me and the family to start a new chapter on the East Coast.”
From rental to renovation: a personal transformation
What began as a renter's experience quickly evolved into a deeply personal project. “There were some things that needed updating when I moved in, but I had been living in a one bedroom apartment; so moving to a three bedroom house was truly life changing,” Akerman explained. “With every job I booked, I’d put away a little nest egg so I could eventually make changes. I always dreamed of having a pool and hot tub.”
Over the years, she transformed the property, adding a custom kitchen, a sparkling pool, a soundproofed studio above the garage – perfect for a creative retreat or, let’s be honest, a secure storage space for hunting supplies – and expanding the living room to accommodate family gatherings. The lower level was meticulously redesigned into a luxurious primary suite, complete with a private deck.
Mediterranean flair, la style
Levine Harris of Brock & Lori Real Estate Team describes the Home as “a Mediterranean-inspired sanctuary, with a unique design perspective that only Malin could have created: old-worldly yet design-forward, cozy and fun.” The sprawling 6,780 square-foot property features a wrought-iron gate, a grand courtyard, a heated pool, and a Moroccan-inspired pergola sheltering the kitchen and dining area. But it’s not just about the aesthetics. Akerman emphasized her grandfather's influence, recalling summers spent in the South of France and the combined Provençal and Moroccan styles that shaped the Home’s character.
