The original kitchen, described by designer Mallory Robins as “almost industrial,” lacked warmth and connection to the rest of the house. To remedy this, Kobel + Co. transformed an underutilized passageway into a “hostess hall,” complete with a Home bar and library dubbed the “li-bar-y.”

The project wasn’t merely about layout; it was about embracing the homeowners' bold aesthetic preferences. The team infused a vintage-inspired Schumacher floral fabric throughout the Home, using it as a foundation for color and pattern choices.

A symphony of color and texture

The living room features a floral-clad sofa—clad in Schumacher’s Anshun fabric—which became the inspiration for the entire Home’s color palette. Bold blue Gracie panels in the dining room provide a striking contrast to mauve walls, while vintage touches and custom details add personality.

The kitchen boasts graphic Calacatta Vagli marble and decorative mesh grills on cabinets, offering both visual interest and functional storage. A back kitchen provides a discreet space for everyday tasks, maintaining a clean aesthetic.

The homeowners were open to risk, embracing colors, patterns, and artwork with confidence – a hallmark of the firm’s approach. This willingness to experiment resulted in a Home that feels both layered and deeply personal.
